“Can I really go viral?”
Possibly. Maybe even likely. BUT you never want to completely leave it to chance. There are strategies you can implement to help make it more likely. That’s why you’re here.
The good news is that even if you don’t suddenly get 20 million views or something crazy, these strategies will always help you steadily grow with better response.
Understanding virality involves analyzing both reach and engagement, with new followers serving as an additional indicator of content resonance.
A post is often considered “viral” when it achieves an engagement rate significantly higher than the platform’s average. For instance, on platforms like Instagram, an average engagement rate is around 0.7%.
Therefore, a post with an engagement rate substantially above this benchmark could be deemed viral.
Engagement rate measures how actively your audience interacts with your content. It’s calculated by dividing the total number of engagements (likes, comments, shares) by the total number of impressions (times your content was displayed), then multiplying by 100 to get a percentage.
Instead of aiming for a massive viral hit the first time, consider setting achievable milestones:
By setting realistic, personalized goals, you can incrementally improve your content’s performance and work towards achieving viral success.
Determining what constitutes a “viral” post on Threads, especially for relatively new accounts, can be challenging due to the platform’s evolving nature and varying user engagement levels. However, based on user experiences and available data, we can establish some general benchmarks:
Many new users report that their posts receive minimal views, often ranging from 0 to 3 views shortly after posting, with some posts reaching up to 17 views after a couple of days.
Even users with a moderate following have observed limited engagement on their Threads posts. For instance, one user with over 600 followers noted that their posts garnered between 2 to 77 views, despite having a larger audience.
It’s important to note that these numbers are approximate and can vary based on factors such as content quality, posting frequency, audience engagement, and the evolving dynamics of the Threads platform.
For me personally, a this stage on Threads my mini-viral goal is 5,000 views. I’ve hit and surpassed that more than once – but it does take work – which is the whole point of this course. I’m giving you the 5-step strategic framework we have developed and used for clients to help them reach up to 50K views within a couple of weeks after implementing our strategy.
Of course, your results will vary depending upon your audience, your posts, and your implementation.
✔ 1. Audience Alignment – Identify what your audience cares about and craft posts that speak directly to their interests, emotions, and pain points.
✔ 2. The Hook & Structure Formula – How to create attention-grabbing openings and format your Threads for easy readability, keeping people engaged from start to finish.
✔ 3. The Engagement Engine – How to spark conversations, encourage replies, and leverage interactions to trigger the algorithm’s boost.
✔ 4. Momentum & Amplification – How to capitalize on early traction, post strategic follow-ups, and cross-promote your best content for sustained visibility.
✔ 5. Analysis & Optimization – How to track performance, refine your approach, and set realistic growth goals to increase your chances of going viral consistently.
This framework ensures that every post you create has a strategic purpose—maximizing reach, engagement, and audience growth.
