Here are instructions on how you can invite us to various platforms that we may be working on for you.
Note that these instructions are accurate at the time we wrote this document, but platforms do change, so let us know if you get stuck OR need instructions for an additional platform!
Web Access – Required for Website & SEO Projects
WordPress Website – Add User
Visit the admin dashboard of your website (your link will probably look like https://yourwebsitename.com/wp-admin)
- Click “Users” in the left column of your dashboard
- Click “Add New”
- Enter a username – it is often easiest to simply use our email address: [email protected]
- Enter the same email in the email field – [email protected]
- Have it generate a password, copy it and send it to us in an email or other message.
- Please do NOT only reply upon the built-in checkbox to have it send us an email. Most WordPress websites have not been set up properly to send those emails, so we may never receive it.
- Under role, select “Administrator”
- Click “Add New User”
Important: Let us know when this has been completed, so that we can check access.
Other Website Platforms
Most sites have a similar User tab, where you can send an invite to [email protected]
Wix: Go to Roles & Permissions. · Click Invite People. Select the highest role that you are comfortable with sharing and send invitation to my email address above.
If you need help with a specific platform, please contact us and let us know which, and we can send you instructions.
Host / Server
Often we will need access to your host account – such as GoDaddy, Bluehost, etc. We will send you those instructions when you let us know which host you use. This isn’t always needed, which is why we do not include instructions here.
Google Analytics & Search – Required for Website & SEO
If we are handling your website or SEO, we need access to each of these. If you do not yet have any of these accounts set up yet, we will help you do so, let us know, these are critical.
For all Google invitations, please use my Gmail: [email protected]
Google Analytics
- Visit https://analytics.google.com
- Click the Admin gear icon at the bottom left of the page
- First column, Account, make sure the proper account is selected if you have more than one
- Second column, under Property, select Property Access Management
- Top right click the blue + icon
- Click Add Users
- Enter my GMail address from above
- Click Administrator
- Click blue Add button on top right
Google Search Console
- Visit https://search.google.com/search-console
- Make sure the correct site is selected from the dropdown at the top left
- Scroll to almost bottom of left column and click Settings gear icon
- Click Users and Permissions
- Click blue Add User button top right
- Enter my GMail address from above
- Make sure “Full” or “Owner” is selected from dropdown (note that selecting owner won’t transfer ownership to us, just gives us extra permissions that we need)
- Click Add
Google Tag Manager (only if currently used)
Not everyone has this. You can check if you do at https://tagmanager.google.com. If you do not yet have it, don’t worry at this point (if we need to add it later, we can share it with you in reverse). If you do, you can follow these instructions to invite us to the account:
- Scroll to and click the blue link for the website you need to add us to
- Click Admin menu tab at the top
- Click User Management in left column
- Click blue + button top right and click Add User
- Enter my GMail address from above
- Click Administrator
- To the right of “Container Permissions” click Set All
- Under “direct” column click box for “Publish” (that should checkmark all items, which is what you want; if not, please checkmark them all)
- Click blue Done button top right
- Click blue Invite button top right
Google Business – Extremely Helpful for SEO
Visit https://business.google.com
If you have not yet set up Google Business, contact us to let us know. We will walk you through the steps, or set it up for you. This is important if we are doing SEO services.
- Make sure you’re on the correct page
- Left column at the bottom click on “Users”
- In the popup window, click the icon top right that looks like 2 people with a +
- Click “Invite New User”
- Enter my Gmail address: [email protected]
- Click “Choose a role” and choose “Manager”
- Click “Invite”
Social Media Access
IF we are providing social media services, or integrating these into your website or other services, please provide access.
Facebook Business Page & Instagram Business
The most secure method of sharing access to your Facebook page is to visit https://business.facebook.com
Make sure your Instagram account is set to a business account and has been connected to your Facebook page (ask us if you need help)
- Click “Settings” in the left menu
- Under the People tab, click the “Add People” button on the right
- Enter my email address [email protected]
- Choose Admin level, click Next
- Toggle on all of the settings for your page
- Select instagram in the left and toggle on all of the settings for IG
- Click Send Invitation
Twitter & Other Social
Depending upon which profiles we will be handling for you and what we will be doing, contact us for instructions if you do not know how to add us. All social media platforms (other than Google Business) invitations should be sent to [email protected]
